Our Story

The term "Cardbaord Crown King" reffers to being a "King of Nothing" or being a King in your own right or plainly, just being your self.

Stray first used the term for his very first Mix-Tape which consisted of an Instrumental Cd of beats Stray produced and a 15 minute continious mixed track of single verses and hooks and a spoken word track. The front cover was a printed design on a A4 piece of paper, cut out to fit the cd sleeve with a drawn on handstyle from Greeley on the Cd itself and sold for $2 at the local hip-hop store (Ruffcut Records).

Now after many organised shows and a few releases Stray Expression Productions was ready for a revamp and to become a business. So after a name change to "Cardboard Crown King Records" and then the signing of Skurgone and a financial injection. Cardboard Crown King Records was born and will see it's official launch this April, with a mini tour from Melbourne to Hobart to Launceston and the album launches of both Skurgeone and Stray.
